Protectpcs Does Not Protect The Security Of Your Pc

ProtectPcs claims to detect and remove spyware and other parasites from your PC.  This rogue security program purposely advertises toward the user, warning of infections that supposedly exist.  This is simply a hoax designed to persuade you to purchase their product to remove these threats and infections.

ProtectPcs displays misleading security alerts and fake system notifications in order to convince you the malware and parasites exist.  Fake online scan results are usually harmless files created by this malicious program in order to alarm you.  Do not buy this product, it is incapable of detecting or removing any threat.

How malware installs on your computer

Most normal users have never heard of malware, and have no idea how something malicious could install on their PC without their knowledge.  This frequently happens when you download other programs like games, videos or freeware.  Malicious websites and P2P networks are other common sources of spyware.  You may not know when it actually installs, but you will see symptoms soon after.

What are the symptoms of ProtectPcs?

If your computer has become infected with spyware, there are some common symptoms that are fairly obvious.  Your PC may become slower than normal or even unstable.  Pop-up ads and security alerts will bombard you constantly.  You may see that your home page has suddenly changed, or that a new toolbar is installed in your browser.  You might also notice that you are being directed to strange websites you were not trying to visit.

What spyware does

You already know that ProtectPcs tries to con you out of your money.  What else does spyware do?  These malicious applications collect information about your online activities and interests.  Information regarding your search queries, the websites you visit and even personal data may be collected and sent to third parties.  You may notice that spam e-mails contain information related to topics you have searched for, and this is no coincidence.  These third parties advertise to you using the information that has been sent to them.  You may be at risk of identity theft as well.

When you detect malware on your PC, it should be removed at once.  It is possible to remove it yourself, but unless you are very knowledgeable in the process manual removal should be avoided.  Your PC could be badly damaged if not done correctly.  To remove spyware automatically, it is advised that you use a reputable antispyware tool designed specifically for this purpose.
