Although there are already industries using the SaaS, many are still thinking twice whether the Software as a Service can be really useful to them. Therefore, to give clarity to all the myths surrounding this software, here are some myths that must be debunked to know more about it.

1.     This software is not cost-effective.

On the contrary, this would actually save you a lot of money. By using the SaaS, you no longer have to spend more money for added infrastructures including more storage capacity and hardware. Moreover, there is also no need to add more resources just maintain the traditional software solutions.

2.     It is not as flexible as the other available software solutions.

It can meet all the demands of a particular configuration since it can be very flexible in all kinds of environment.

3.     You would have a hard time accessing the data using the SaaS Service Desks.

The users can actually access their data easily using various data-download facilities as long as it is already pre-configured. At the same time, Web 2.0 interfaces can also help the consumers to access their data as well. Of course, the restrictions would be defined according to the role of the user in the service desk.

4.     Security-wise, Software as a Service is not a great option.

It incorporates strict controls and policies that would help the industry to manage the security control and to organize their objectives. The solutions used for this software is meant for the utmost data distribution between its users. Only through the Secure Socket Layer connections that these database can be accessed. At the same time, the data are encrypted and there are backups so that users can recover the data in case of any error or failure.

5.     You do not have a lot of options when it comes to the software features.

Nowadays, many solution providers of the Software as a Service are now catering products that are fully functional especially once it has already been implemented. Some of these functions include the Configuration Management, Problem Management, Request Fulfillment, and many others. Other than that, providers are also integrating more add-on features that are usually attached every time the system upgrades.
