Reviewing the xyron ezlaminator cold laminator

Reviewing the Xyron 9″ EzLaminator Cold Laminator

Xyron has created some great laminators and crafting tools, from the simple Create-A-Sticker 150 to the innovative Wishblade die cutting machine. One of the company’s most basic machines is the ezLaminator. This is a laminator that’s good for people who only do occasional laminating of things such as stickers, photographs, scrapbook pages, greeting cards, and so on. It is great for home use and possibly even small office or retail use. This review will talk about the ezLaminator’s strengths and weaknesses so you can decide if you want one for yourself.
The Xyron ezLaminator is a basic machine with a 9-inch throat, which means you can laminate items that are up to 8.5″ wide. It comes with a 30-foot-long, two-sided lamination cartridge to get you started. This is a cold laminator, so it is good for laminating heat-sensitive items, and you don’t need to use any electricity or batteries to use the machine.
One of the best features of the Xyron ezLaminator is how simple it is to use. To use it, all you do is place your document in the machine’s opening and then crank the handle. Since there’s no heat or electricity involved, even kids could use it during a crafting session with minimal supervision. It is also nice that it is easy to change the laminating film. Changing laminating film can be pretty tricky, but that’s not the case with this machine. The film cartridges let you know when they need to be replaced and when that happens, you can just lift the machine’s lid and replace the cartridge. It is virtually fool-proof.
The ezLaminator has a couple of other intriguing features. First, it has interchangeable laminating cartridges that allow you to control how your document is laminated. Some cartridges allow you laminate both sides of your document, while others laminate one side and apply adhesive to the other. Your laminating options are pretty open. This machine also has a removable built-in trimmer. You can use this trimmer to cut away the excess laminate from your items, or you could do it by hand. Having a built-in trimmer is a very convenient feature to have, especially in such an inexpensive machine. (The Xyron ezLaminator retails for less than $60.00.)
The ezLaminator does have some drawbacks due to its price. This is a laminator that’s really only meant to be used for personal projects. It is simply not able to handle heavy-duty lamination or long runs, nor can it handle documents that are wider than 8.5″. Also, unlike other Xyron laminators such as the Creative Station, the ezLaminator can only use cartridges for creating stickers and performing encapsulation lamination. Laminators such as the Creative Station can create magnets and incorporate repositionable adhesive, so if you’d like a machine with those features, the ezLaminator wouldn’t be a good pick. Finally, aside from a few metal parts such as the trimmer, the machine is made almost entirely of plastic, so it is not heavy-duty, obviously. But it is very portable, so you can take it with you on your crafting excursions.
Overall, the Xyron ezLaminator is a good machine for people who need a laminator for occasionally laminating craft projects and personal documents. It is nicely priced and easy to use. Plus, it’s great that you can use it without any electricity. This is a good machine for personal use, but it’s not ideal at all for anyone who needs to do a large volume of laminating.

Make your digital camera batteries last longer

Make Your Digital Camera Batteries Last Longer

Digital cameras, also known as filmless cameras are one of the most intelligent inventions of late. Because before digital cameras, even the most high end cameras were chemical process dependent for photo printout.
But in digital camera, images are recorded electronically by an inbuilt computer. Though initially they were beyond the reach of normal people due to price factor, now they are available in within an affordable range.
Battery is an important component of any digital camera. In fact the longevity of your digital camera depends upon the performance of its battery. First thing to remember is never go in for alkaline AA batteries as they have shorter life span. Always opt for rechargeable batteries called as NiMH. Although they are a bit costly as compared to alkaline AA digital camera batteries, but they can be reused for a long time.
If you are going out on a long trip, it is a good idea to take extra rechargeable batteries. You never know when they will come handy as digital cameras consume power from batteries quickly even if you use rechargeable ones.
While going on a trip, it is also advisable to take battery charger along with you as digital camera batteries may lose their charge over time. Having a charger is helpful especially if u r novice in digital camera photography for you tend to consume more batteries while clicking the perfect shot. Here are some other helpful tips to increase the longevity of your digital camera batteries.
It is always advisable to remove the batteries when the digital camera is not in use. This simple precaution can ensure the longevity of batteries.
Never let your digital camera batteries get wet as water can corrode the batteries and eventually damage them.
You should have prior knowledge about this fact that, if you are using MicroDrive media these miniature hard drives may take up quite more power than Compact Flash cards and hence extra rechargeable batteries are a must.
Turn off your digital camera when not in use. If you are in a situation where you must snap pictures quickly, this may not be a wise suggestion, but if you are in no hurry and can afford a couple of seconds before snapping a still subject, by all means, conserve your digital camera`s energy.
You do not need to stop and take a look after taking photo every time as by doing this does use up your digital camera`s battery power. However, once in a while, it is good to check if your exposure, lightening is perfect or not.
Now-a-days, many digital cameras come with regular viewfinder and an LCD viewfinder facility. While the digital LCD viewfinder has better resolution, it can drain battery power. Turn it off when applicable and use your regular viewfinder for taking pictures.
Try to keep your image playback to a minimum as they can drain out the battery power.
While replacing batteries in a digital camera, it is recommended that their mAh values match. The `mAh` stands for Milliamp Hour is a technical term used while describing how much power a particular battery will hold. It might be possible that one lesser mAh battery will drain before the others, resulting extra strain on the remaining batteries.
For better performance, do check in for an add-on power pack that uses AA NiMH batteries in your digital cameras.
When your AA NiMH batteries stopped accepting a charge, do not throw away them for they are recyclable. Contact your battery manufacturer or local recycling agency to see if these dead batteries can be recycled.
Always make sure to insert similar batteries into your digital camera battery charger. Miss-match set of batteries can result in damaging the batteries or the charger, and in extreme case, a fire too can ensue.
Taking proper care of your digital camera batteries ensures optimum and long lasting performance. Hope the above tips will come handy for the consumers of digital cameras.

Computers and computer related technologies

Computers And Computer Related Technologies

Computers and computer related technologie are vital in a thriving and dynamic digital age, both for a business and for the home user. In the work place, computers are a crucial tool to the day to day running of business, be it stock control and order processing software, checking your emails for communication from head office, to comparing your prices with those of a competitor on the Internet. Much more than that though, the reporting functionality for a manager is unfathomable from slow moving stock reports to accurate profit and loss analysis that allows a business to improve on its potential weaknesses as well as maintaining its strengths.
For the home user the possibilities are equally diverse; chatting to friends, downloading films or music, tracking down old school friends or searching for that new job, house or holiday.
With prices falling all the time, the early twenty-first century is shaping up to be the best time to start thinking about buying a new computer, or upgrade an existing model. The home user can easily purchase a new top of the range home computer for under $750, perfect for word processing, connectivity to the internet or playing a new Computers Games with the need to high processing power, memory and graphics.
Generally, computers are regarded as being obsolete six months to a year after they are removed from the box, but again this is an area that is much improved in the digital age. A person can easily upgrade a two year old computer to a highly competitive standard for a minimal cost. But for those where upgrading is yet to become a priority, many computers of over ten years in age are still perfect for word processing and internet use, along with other low end software programs.
